Job Description :
As a member of the multidisciplinary team in the Acute Care and Emergency Departments, the Registered Nurse directs and participates in the provision of nursing care to patients.
Obtains nursing history utilizing patient centered approach that identifies common characteristics and needs affecting care. Serves as a guide for the development of individual nursing care plans. Identifies self-care baseline data, reflects the patients’ physiological condition, reflects the patients’ psychosocial needs, reflects the patients’ and families’ perception of self-care deficits and expectations of the present hospitalization, provides necessary information to begin discharge planning.
Performs nursing care and treatments cooperatively with other licensed staff, as directed by the provider, and documents care provided in the patient medical record in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assists patients with activities of daily living such as feeding assistance, baths, oral hygiene, grooming, ambulating, range of motion/turning, toileting and bowel and bladder training. Obtains and records vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature.
Measures, documents and provides for patient intake of food and fluid which includes partial and total assistance with feedings; output from bodily functions/specified drainage devices and collects specimens as directed by the provider.
Identifies and anticipates problems and safety issues and initiates appropriate action.
Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve the quality.
Demonstrates positive, supportive and caring behaviors in communication with patient, families, visitors, providers, staff and others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Montana RN Licensure, or eligible
CPR, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
ACLS, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
PALS and TNCC, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Schedule:
Three 12 hour shifts per week
Mid shift: 0900 – 2100
Regular call, typically 4 call shifts per 8 week schedule
