Your role
Essential Functions:

Supervise, coach and lead the business unit application staff. Administers all aspects of personnel management within the group. This includes development of written business and personal objectives linked to the Business Unit strategy. Prioritize work daily to maximize ability to deliver samples on the same day requested.
Collaborate with Perfumers, Evaluators, Advanced Research, Perfumery Lab, Sales, Project Coordination, Consumer Testing teams to provide all requested samples in the most efficient way possible.
Provide technical guidance to the staff in solving fragrance applications problems and challenges.
Analyzes problems, suggest solutions and communicate results to all relevant functions.
Create/Modify In-House bases as necessary to provide BU ability to properly sample the clients.
Present experimental data and solutions to clients as necessary.
Provide senior management with monthly reports on applications lab KPI’s
Maintain/Create application lab manuals that describe proper procedures for applying fragrances to various bases
Maintain/Create proper training manuals for safe use of all machinery and instruments found in the applications lab.
Provide training to all lab personnel to ensure safe and proper use of all equipment.
Use Good Laboratory Practices to create the proper work environment.
Adhere to the applications lab budget.
Support other divisions with sample preparation as needed.

About you

Minimum Bachelors Degree in Science related field – Masters degree preferred
Minimum 10 years experience in fragrance/flavor or consumer products goods manufacturing company.
Strong knowledge of customers and related market products
Thorough knowledge of fragrance industry and formulations.
Strong leadership and team building skills with ability to think strategically and see the “big picture”.
Must be able to reprioritize on the go and make decisions with incomplete information.
Ability to successfully work in a multitasked and dynamic business environment
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate project/time management skills
Ability to solve fragrance ingredient related issues associated with sample application and processing methods.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to be able to work with various groups such as clients, sales, perfumers, evaluators, marketing, consumer testing, project coordination.
Basic computer skills – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Occupational Qualifier – must be willing and able to smell fragrances.
