Diversity Oasis is a new youth nonprofit organization specializing in diverse intervention from violence and other non-desirable distractions within the community. We are seeking 6 board members who have a passion and dedication to making a positive change and difference for our youth. Diversity Oasis was created to become a modern-day bridge for youth between the ages of 13-23 years of age, city officials (mainly police department), and parents. A communication gap is widening between these three entities, not only in Columbus, Ohio, but also in many states throughout the U.S. We want to be an answer to help fill that gap.
ABOUT THE ROLE
An internal review of our needs concluded that we seek board members who will bring diverse perspectives and experience to help foster strong and rapid growth for an organization looking to make a direct impact in helping the youth in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Diverse: brings a willingness to express different experiences and perspectives to help influence and drive change
Tangible experience: has hands-on experience (not just advisory) at one or more companies/organizations, assisting youth and/or the community
Fostering: played an active role in growth at the mid or senior level in the lives of youth also ensuring that past resume experiences and/or educational training support that growth
Sustainable growth: has experience overseeing and directly managing sustainable growth over multiple geographies and/or markets (within the US or internationally)
Relevant nonprofit company: has experience that is complementary to/somewhat aligned with Diversity Oasis’ services, ideally within an organization serving private and public clients
***PLEASE NOTE*** – (This position will be a non-paid position and strictly voluntary until funding has been obtained to support staffing levels. )
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship
Pay: $30,000.00 per year
Schedule:
4 hour shift
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
Columbus, OH 43227: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
youth mentorship: 2 years (Preferred)
Work Location: One location
