Collection Manager – On site
Stenger and Stenger, P.C, is an AV rated, multi-state law firm founded in 1994 with its headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are looking for a Collections Manager to join our work family! This position provides front-line management of the collection team consisting of 40+ indirect and direct reports. The Collections Manager is responsible for executing strategy to maximize the effectiveness of the collections department and ensuring that all collections activities are compliant with all applicable policies and regulations.
Collection Manager Job Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the VP of Collections to develop strategy and establish workflows and goals for the team to enhance collection production
· Lead, manage, and train collection teams including supervisors, team leads and team members
· Mentor, coach and develop the collections leadership team to ensure operational excellence
· Design and implement process improvements to increase performance and minimize risk
· Review performance reports and KPI’s to identify trends and areas of opportunity and to focus recovery efforts among the staff
· Monitor and adjust work queues to align with client and departmental goals
· Review results of call monitoring with staff to ensure compliant, effective calls
· Actively participate in interviews and selection of qualified applicants
· Provide orientation to the job, team, and compensation structure for new hires
· Proactively researching industry resources to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Associates or bachelor’s degree with concentration in Business or Finance preferred
· High School Diploma or GED plus additional collections experience accepted in lieu of college degree
· Specific knowledge and experience within the collection community. Effective knowledge and working experience with skip tracing and legal/judgment collections
· Minimum of five (5) years of collections experience preferred
· Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a consumer collections environment

· Ability to effectively and professionally present and communicate to upper management and clients
· Proven ability to design and communicate daily workflows and heavy inbound campaigns to the team
· Continuous, effective team leadership skills with a proven track record of success.
· Ability to work some late nights to support the team
· Ability to teach and effectively motivate others
· Current knowledge of collections industry regulations
· Ability to master new software programs effectively
· Knowledge working with CLS and or Cogent CRM software a plus
· Knowledge working with TCN and or LiveVox communication platform a plus
