Team/Position Overview
Treasury and Trade Solution (TTS) is part of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and is a leading provider of cash management, treasury, trade, clearing, depository receipts and commercial cards services. It has a global network spanning more than 100 countries and is unique in the industry for its reach, interoperability and flexibility. We provide clients with dynamic information, tools, and APIs to effectively manage their portfolios, financial positions, working capital and supply chains.
Core Accounts organisation is a key part of TTS group. It is currently undergoing a strategic transformation which has 3 pillars – a) De-risking the legacy core banking platforms b) Right-placing the non-DDA capabilities c) Implementing a strategic target state Core Accounts Platform.
Core Accounts Technology Program Director will be responsible for leading the program governance for a multi-year, global transformation and BAU initiatives for the Core Accounts team. The selected individual will drive the governance of multiple initiatives which includes program status reporting, transparency of risks and issues, tracking and management of project funding, compliance to quality controls and standards as established by Citi’s Project Management team and updates to senior business and technology leadership within TTS and ICG business.
This position requires a senior candidate with exceptional leadership, product/process/controls knowledge, ability to navigate senior stakeholders across product and technology and excellent communication skills
The role will report directly to the Global Head of Core Accounts and LMS Technology and will partner closely with other TTS and ICG teams across product, technology, operations and controls/compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the cross functional governance for Core Accounts Transformation and BAU initiatives, managing roadmaps, performance metrics/KPIs, financials/investment, controls and risks/issues to ensure strong ownership, accountability and execution
Engage with the senior business stakeholders as the primary point of contact for core accounts program governance. Instill a sense of predictability and oversight, organizing the initiatives in a logical/structured manner.
Own and manage the budget and identify issues and action plans for ensuring financial targets are met. Work with the Business Unit Managers to forecast and track costs; reporting any financial opportunities and vulnerabilities
Create and embedding new centralized, demand management process that is consistent with Agile/Jira processes
Work with the value stream teams to ensure that their release train teams are right sized and have the right skills for delivering idea to value at pace
Define and drive strategic workforce planning across Core Accounts Technology to ensure that Core Accounts Technology have the right people with the right skills at the right time
Coach teams to articulate and measure business outcomes, able to assist with prioritization of business outcomes, able to define and measure agile metrics for the portfolio, and able to provide consolidated data for a monthly cadence with value stream teams to inspect and adapt on quarterly and annual outcomes set
Prepare communications and decks/materials catered for senior business sponsors for decision making purposes. Drive steering committee / operating committee meetings as necessary, as well as represent Core Accounts Technology in business steer cos as needed.
Drive a culture of inclusion, diversity and engineering excellence across the group
Experience:
Extensive experience in leading large multi-year technology transformation initiatives, especially focused on legacy transformations (preferably in banking)
Deep expertise in all aspects of Program Governance (preferably with global banks or other large corporates), including astute management of program financials
Experience managing large, cross functional initiatives across multiple streams operating in both agile and waterfall models
Experience leading global and distributed program teams and effective stakeholder management
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Exceptional communicator who loves working with people, confident communicating at all levels from an individual team to the entire enterprise and is not afraid to challenge status quo
Strong presentation skills including ability to prepare and drive power point presentations for senior leadership
Proven track record of building a high performing, inclusive and diverse team. Ability to lead through influencing.
Prior experience with enterprise grade project / program management tools
Ability to drive consensus across various stakeholder group.
