Job Description
Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and reporting to the Zurn Corporate Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate & transparent financial reporting across the global Zurn business, including the US, Canada, and the Middle East. This role will partner with members throughout the Zurn Finance team to ensure financial processes meet Corporate ZWS standards. Zurn Corporate Accountant will act with a continuous improvement mindset and play a critical role in implementing month-end close best practices across all Zurn businesses.
This position will be in Zurn’s corporate offices in downtown Milwaukee, WI.
Key Accountabilities
Perform various month-end closing duties, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations for accounts such as payroll, intercompany, and prepaids.
Assist in driving continuous improvement in Zurn Corporate close process.
Assist with ad-hoc, special projects including integration assistance of future acquisition targets.
Play lead role in defining requirements needed to transition from manual balance sheet account reconciliation process to automated process leveraging OneStream consolidation system.
Assist with internal/external audit coordination.
Partner with broader Zurn Finance team to drive process improvements in financial reporting. This includes driving efficiency in the closing process and implementing procedures to streamline audit deliverables.
Collaborate with members of the Finance team to ensure compliance to US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate policies and procedures and local statutory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
2 or more years of accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner
Strong problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks
Highly motivated with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of processes to facilitate continuous improvement
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and particularly strong Excel skills involving pivot tables and dynamic formulas
