Role Details:

The primary role of the Data Protection Control Domain Operational Lead is to proactively drive a strong data protection risk and control program through the identification, assessment, and management of a comprehensive set of data-focused controls to support the firm’s risk appetite. The successful candidate will have a strong technical and policy-based background, an understanding of the global regulatory environment, and strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-organizational initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

Build and cultivate a security risk & control focused culture through partnership and collaboration with the business and technology teams to deliver clear control outcomes and improve security posture of the firm.
Interface with Technology Leadership, Product Owners, and BISO stakeholders to develop a comprehensive set of technology-based data risk controls that mitigate risk while enabling the business to extract value from its data.
Ensure technology control risk impacting the business is effectively identified, understood, and managed, including the assessment of thematic issues.
Build a team that will serve as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for Data Protection and Management security control domains .
Proactively monitoring Key Risk Indicators to identify non-compliance and assist in the evaluation of any thematic root causes.
Work closely across the Product Operating model to understand Technology teams strategies, product roadmaps, and key investment programs and how you might influence their control development.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on firm-mandated, cross-LOB, and regional audits as needed.

Preferred Experience:

Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and present Cybersecurity risk concepts with business and technology partners.
Strong analytical skills including solving and communicating complex problems, data analytics, measurement and reporting needed to drive continuous improvement.
5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and Risk Management with an understanding of how to implement cyber controls in both a traditional and cloud-based environment
Applicable working experience in multiple security domains (e.g., application security, vulnerability reduction, data protection, encryption, logging and monitoring, network security)
Preferable experience working in regulated industries, in particular leveraging technology standards, frameworks, compliance, and industry recognized best practice / standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC)
Understanding of the external threat landscape, threat actors, adversary tactics & techniques, and industry trends
