Join our team who is committed to the delivery of the highest quality health care service. We are seeking a full-time Director of Events and Community Engagement that is self-motivated, energetic, and a take charge individual.
Responsibilities:
Work creatively to understand individual and community perceptions of SSCHC within the communities that SSCHC serves.
Build awareness of, and positive reputation of SSCHC within communities served
Develop a culture whereby SSCHC is the go-to healthcare provider on the Southside, regardless of insurance or lack thereof.
Partner internally with key leaders and staff so that patients experience excellent interactions at every touchpoint with the clinic and our internal and external services.
Assist in providing feedback about the patient experience to organizational leadership so that patients feel valued, their needs are met, and they believe SSCHC is a vital part of their community.
Work with the community to identify needs and gaps in services and programs.
Partner with the Director of Public Relations to address the identified community needs and gaps through advocacy and policy change.
Work to establish/continue and to oversee the Patient and Family Advisory Council.
Serve as liaison with the Milwaukee Latino Health Coalition and other neighborhood groups important to Sixteenth Street.
Along with Development Director and VP of Advancement run all special events for SSCHC, including Sixteenth Street Bike Day, the Health Equity Summit, and the Celebrity Roast.
SSCHC participation in health fairs at area schools and around the community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Able to manage competing tasks and projects.
Experience in all aspects of developing and managing multiple projects, including supervision of staff and volunteers, monthly and annual budgeting, program analysis and evaluation.
Understanding of, and ability to relate well to people of various ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, particularly in communities served by SSCHC.
Ability to work independently, in group settings, and as part of a team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office, experience with MS Access or similar database platforms and experience with Geographical Information Systems.
Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish.
