Mark Murphy’s Music is a one-of-a-kind music school in South Orange, NJ.
Looking to bring in two new Early Childhood Music Teachers for Fall 2022 to join our “Little M’s” program.
We have been in business since 2003, and employ teachers with music degrees from the top music schools in the world. Our goal is to foster a love and appreciation of music in each of our students, while providing them a solid foundation of theory, reading, technique, repertoire & creativity.
What is Little M’s?
Little M’s (for Little MMM Musicians!) was developed specifically for students between the ages of four and a half and six. Little M lessons are offered on piano and Loog guitar. Little M’s effectively bridges the gap between early childhood music classes and private lessons, especially when it comes to learning the guitar!
The school is run by musicians who put the music and lesson experience first. The musical community, studio environment and faculty are all one of a kind. You would potentially be joining an incredible collaborative group of teachers/musicians! Beyond the one-on-one lesson experience we have many creative programs/ensembles at the school.
We look to hire incredible, active musicians who possess a deep love of music education, and are committed to building relationships with each student on their schedule. Our teachers are personable mentors as well as talented music educators, and the right candidates will embody both these characteristics.

Finally, we pay our teachers as W2 employees (not as 1099 contractors). We handle all admin. We just want our teachers to be inspired to teach! We have a great makeup policy where teachers are always paid for their time. Our school runs at capacity, so a normal teaching day is approximately 5 hours (ten 30 minute students).
Our school has eleven fully-equipped lesson rooms, a performance space and a state of the art recording studio. We are open five days a week (M-F 3-8pm). All lessons happen on-site in our facilities. We’re located walking distance to the South Orange train station, which is just a 35-minute ride on NJ Transit from Penn Station.
