Job Description :
Creative Business Innovations is looking for a Purchasing Associate for a automotive supplier in East Liberty, OH. This is a DIRECT HIRE position at the client company.
Scope and PurposeThe Purchasing OEM Buyer is responsible to purchase and maintain inventory to support three (3) plant locations.
Job Duties
Purchase all OEM and hardware component parts for 2-3 plants
Responsible for tracking expedited shipments
Assists with supplier capacity surveys
Responsible for maintaining 4-8 weeks of firm orders and 26 week planning numbers to all suppliers.
Coordinates with Honda Mass Production Group or a designated Tier 1 supplier for design build out, ramp up and capacity gaps
Track supplier performance and report performance metrics to Customer Purchasing.
Resolve inaccurate MRP demand planning data
Assists with supply chain management including transportation, packaging and expedites for purchased components. Is required to maintain delivery operations for North American suppliers
Actively support Purchasing Department in developing EDI relationships with suppliers
Understand customers operating product needs and delivery requirements.
Occasionally required to work off schedule times to resolve emergency situations

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Understand assembly process and manufacturing principles.
Demonstrate experience with inventory control functions and customs documentation
Set goals and priorities in order to meet all specification standards and shipping deadlines.
Possess interpersonal and communication skills to maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers
Interface with IT Department regarding system functionality and performance
Read and interpret operating procedures, and quality specifications.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Experience with MRP systems is highly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Power Point)
Requires occasional travel to plant locations to audit safety stock and inventory processes
Participate and support continuous improvement activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events
Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory.
Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs. and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 feet.
Tasks that require continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning and extension of upper body.
Perform job requirements of a Production Associate as needed. · Work daily assigned shift to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed. Follow all company policies including IS0 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS adherence (where applicable) and company’s Associate Handbook and Safety Manual.
Qualification
Associate’s degree preferable in or related field or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
