POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Manager is responsible for overseeing EMS Administration functions, to include- recruitment/retention, staffing and payroll, Health System Fleet services, Courier services, HR matters and EMS logistics.
The administrative manager is responsible for administrative matters as they relate to EMS recruitment and retention initiatives, to include but not limited to overseeing the department’s staffing template, hiring, and retention, change of status, exit interviews and payroll management.
The administrative manager will also partner with ARMC HR on HR matters related to non-operational EMS matters.
The administrative manager is responsible for the maintaining of fleet services for the health system to include, registering and licensing of vehicles, PM cycles, and the purchasing/replacement of all health system vehicles.
The administrative manager is responsible for courier services, to include the oversight of the EMS Courier supervisor, planning/alterations of routes based on business needs, recruitment, staffing and retention.
The administrative manager is responsible for the logistical operations of the EMS department to include the planning of bi-annual biomed day, scheduling the yearly maintenance of EMS equipment (as needed), supply chain management, and the purchasing of EMS equipment.
The EMS Administrative Manager is responsible for the provision of a high standard of emergency medical care to the citizens of Atlantic and Cape May County and surrounding areas. The EMS Manager is a role model of company values, responsible for resolving customer service issues, operating within budgetary guidelines, identifying ways to best utilize System resources and maximizing performance through continual reassessment of System needs and EMS response to Mass Casualty Incidents, Special Operations requests and Special Events.
The EMS Administrative Manager provides leadership on designated Shared Governance Teams and will collaborate with team members on various projects throughout the year. All EMS Managers will work together to ensure smooth operations at all times. EMS Administration Manager will also be responsible for assuming Administrator on Call for a designated week each month.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
The EMS Administrative Manager also assists in identifying market indicators, feasibility testing, establishing and monitoring project guidelines and timeframes, & exploring methods for validating & reporting on the efficacy and efficiency of the services.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a recognized Paramedic Training Program required, Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified as a Paramedic or endorsed as a MICN by the State of NJ. Must maintain certification in the following: BLS, NJ MICP or MICN, NJ EMD, NECI 9-1-1 officer (EMD and 9-1-1 officer can be obtained within the first 3 months), ACLS, PALS or PEPP, Hazard Material Awareness. A valid Driver’s License. Completion of National Incident Command Courses ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 (ICS 300 and 400 required or within 6 months of hiring). Six Sigma Yellow Belt within the first 3 months, green belt preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 8-10 years of experience in EMS required. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in EMS administration. Must have demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work well and relate well with others.
Other Requirements: The EMS Administration manager must also reside in Atlantic or Cape May County within 6 months of appointment.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, blood borne pathogens, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Director of EMS.
