The candidate must be hard working, self-motivated, accountable, extremely detail oriented, and well organized.
Essential duties and responsibilities are to include, but not limited to:
Manage the export process from start to finish
Knowledge and experience with FMC rate filing and regulations
Knowledge of handling both air & ocean export shipments.
Knowledge of handling DG cargo, with current or prior DG certification
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers to develop more business opportunities
Liaise with customers ensuring all documents to process the shipments are received within the designated time frame
Liaise between vendors, suppliers, forwarders, steamship lines and agents to obtain up to date shipment information
Provide timely and accurate updates to ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments
Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer requirements are met
Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions
Cover other staff members when required, and any other duties required for the smooth and efficient operation of the department
Work with the operations team to continually grow and improve processes and business performance
Other responsibilities and duties will be assigned as they may develop or may be necessary to fulfill the above position.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of working experience in NVOCC/Freight Forwarding Export Documentation (FCL/LCL, AIR)
Basic computer knowledge to include Outlook, Windows, spreadsheets, Excel, Word etc.
Knowledge of domestic intermodal trucking, AES filing/requirements, FMC rate filing and customer service experience
Ability to work varying workloads
Complete understanding of U.S. export laws and regulations
Possess high data management skills along with the ability to prioritize workload
Strong phone, e-mail communication skills
