Job Description :
Large Residential agency located in NJ searching for a Facility Manager to manage all maintenance and upkeep for multiple group home facilities and local offices. The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall condition, cleanliness and mechanical operation of the assigned sites and/or buildings, the working order of its utilities and machines, maintenance supplies, oversight and direction of contractors utilized for outsourced projects. The Facility Manager will work closely with assigned staff on safety training and requirements as needed. The Facility Manager should have complete knowledge and a proven background of handyman skills and the ability to recognize building needs and repairs. He or she will need a valid NJ driver license, with a clean driver record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General repairs and improvements as needed/directed.

Ensure the building is at a safe, well-maintained level at all times.

Understand all preventative maintenance duties and be able to perform them, and share them across the association where applicable.

Have a preventative maintenance plan in place that is adhered to and managed.

Immediately correct or remove all equipment/hazards.

Work in tandem with the Group Home Manager, Program Director, executive team and outside sources for facility upkeep and maintenance.

Helps to develop, implement and lead safety trainings and programs within the association.

Works in tandem with the Manager of Operations to ensure maintenance budget is adhered to and projects are prioritized appropriately.

Provides leadership to opening and closing of off-site outdoor facility as assigned.

Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as directed.

Ability to interact with outside contractors.

Will be required to interface with Fire Inspector, Health Inspector and others as necessary for annual audits.

Check on building during shut-downs – some holidays required.

REQUIREMENTS:

HS degree or equivalent

Previous documented experience in building maintenance / upkeep

Valid NJ Drivers License

Knowledge of handy-man skills and tools (woodworking, painting, minor plumbing, repair work)

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to read, write and comprehend

Ability to take direction and work as a team member

Ability to coach and lead staff team

PHYSICAL REQUIRIEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, crawl, reach, stretch, pull, push, climb, lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds.

Ability to tolerate outdoor weather conditions (both heat and cold).

Ability to hear and see to ensure the ability to take directions in various environments safely.

Ability to communicate in writing and verbal to ensure safety requirements can be clearly understood.

Work may require week-end, early morning and late evening hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year, dependent on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekend as needed
