Summary:
Metal Sales is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Kent, WA branch has an opening on our shipping team for a Loader & F150 Driver.
This is a permanent full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay!
This position is responsible for the day to day shipping of materials and working the customer will call area. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating packaging and shipping, including the loading/unloading of both commercial and Metal Sales trucks. At times, you may make local deliveries via a Ford F150.
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
Assisting in all aspects of shipping and receiving, including safely operating a forklift to load/unload trucks and move product as needed.
Helping to maintain product quality and inventory control accuracy
Visually inspecting trailer before loading and reporting anything unusual
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed
Job Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have:
Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment
Ability to safely operate a forklift
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic math skills, including ability to read a tape measure
Ability to work independently and with others
High school diploma or GED
Marijuana testing is no longer required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to read, hear, talk, drive lift trucks, wear PPE, and lift up to 45 lbs. repetitively
Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit approximately 7 ½ hours minimum per work shift
Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months
Noise level is moderate to loud
