Job Description :
The objective of the Adoption Counselor position is to ensure quality customer service to all visitors, mainly animal adopters. Processing animal adoptions, as well as supporting adopters and their new animals after adoption, is the Counselor’s center focus. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing animal rehoming assistance and handling surrenders.
The part-time Adoption Counselor position is approximately 24 hours per week. At least one weekend day is a must per week. Necessary skills include – ability to provide great customer service; strong organizational skills; ability to handle high-volume of calls and emails in a timely and professional manner; and knowledge of health, behavioral conditions, and basic animal handling; or the willingness to learn.
