ITW Specialty Films designs, manufactures and markets specialized coated and/or metalized films for the Card, Security, and Medical markets. Job Description
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist serves as a trusted business partner to the Operations Manager/site management team and provides day-to-day professional HR support to our Cranbury, NJ facility. The role is responsible for all phases of the employee life cycle including Staffing and Recruiting, Performance Management, Talent Development, Employee Engagement/Relations, Compensation, Safety, Policy Administration, etc. This position is based in our Cranbury, NJ facility and report to the HR Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Partners with Operations Manager/site management team on strategy, process improvements, and change management in support of division’s annual objectives, assisting with communication plans and organizational design.
Leads full-cycle recruitment for all hourly and salaried positions at the facility. Coordinates with management in the recruiting process, interview scheduling, hiring process, applicant tracking and record keeping requirements. Screens candidates, conducts interviews, and has authority to hire.
Manages new hire processes from offer acceptance through onboarding including pre-employment checks, new hire paperwork, orientation and partnering with hiring managers on onboarding plans.
Supports the on-boarding experience in conjunction with the hiring manager to effectively transition and integrate new hire into the organization.
Leads the ITW Performance Management process, advising and coaching in areas of Goal Setting, Mid-Year and Year-End Reviews and Compensation Planning.
Facilitates talent reviews for assigned function/site. Helps administer talent assessments with respective managers and advises on employee training and development opportunities.
Creates, coordinates, and conducts management/employee training in topics including performance management, safety, harassment, ITW Code of Conduct and ITW business policy guidelines.
Serves as Employee Engagement champion – promotes engagement opportunities and helps drive an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative workplace culture within the facility.
Addresses Employee Relations matters and leads/conducts investigations, provides coaching/support to managers, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, etc.
Conducts and analyzes wage survey data. Maintains position descriptions and market comparisons.
Provides technical expertise/analytical support in relation to employee benefits administration, compensation administration, and HRIS system maintenance.
Inputs employee data in the HRIS system such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Prepares regular and special reports using HRIS. Maintains employee records and personnel files.
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Plays an active role in the development of the Affirmative Action Plan within business unit. Ensures compliance with required legal postings on bulletin boards.
Reviews Employee Handbook and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with law, corporate policies, and business objectives.
Processes payroll and acts as the liaison for the facility and the finance/corporate payroll teams.
Answers routine employee questions and inquiries related to wellness, benefits, and payroll; as well as manage all FMLA, STD, ADA and Worker’s Compensation cases.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field of study.
2-4 years of relevant experience within equivalent or similar HR roles. HR experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong business partnership capabilities and influential skills: Ability to learn and adapt in face-paced business environment, help assess talent, and collaborate with respective business partners in strategic planning and execution.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), listening, and presentation skills; Ability to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and responds clearly to employee inquiries. Demonstrates a positive friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization.
Independent and organized work style: excellent time management, prioritization abilities, and strong project management skills. Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes.
Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to gather and analyze data and present findings with actionable recommendations.
Knowledge of legal requirements relative to recruiting, records retention, ADA, FMLA and other standard HR procedures.
Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with HRIS systems (Workday and Ceridian Dayforce) is a plus.
Ability to generate respect and trust from team and key stakeholders along with the ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues to foster a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Ability to travel 5-10% domestically

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Work is performed in office and manufacturing work environments.
Limited physical effort required. Frequent sitting and standing.
Limited exposure to machinery and flammable substances. Requires PPE (safety shoes and glasses) in manufacturing area.
