JOB SUMMARY: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office. Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, benefits, affirmative action, departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), L & I, unemployment hearings, employee relations, training and development, compensation, organizational development.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In charge of company-wide compliance to Handbook policy, as well as state and federal laws. Will supervise HR Generalist and any other person(s) assigned to Human Resource office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Supervise and oversee all Human Resources departmental operations on a daily basis.
Identify staff vacancies with department managers, recruit and interview applicants.
Track and compile data for Affirmative Action Program reporting (includes annual Vets100 and EEO-1 reports)
Administer compensation, benefits, performance management system and coordinate safety programs.
Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
Perform staffing duties, including dealing with hiring new employees, settling disputes, terminating employees and administering disciplinary procedures, as necessary.
Conduct investigations as necessary for questionable situations or employee disputes and administer disciplinary procedures as necessary.
Administer employee terminations and termination documentation.
Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.
Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Update and modify all legal employee postings as necessary to be in compliance with state and federal laws.
Oversee new employee paperwork and orientation. Modify any necessary paperwork or processes to ensure legal compliance, including timesheets, payroll calendars and payroll processes.
Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering the Employee Handbook and helping to resolve work-related problems.
Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safety programs.
Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals and absenteeism rates.
Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel training activities of the organization, when necessary.
Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
Administer reports and paperwork regarding industrial accidents for insurance carriers, as necessary.
Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity and employee awards, as they apply.
Provide terminated employees with outplacement or relocation assistance, when applicable.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

Must have a 4-year degree in HR Management or related field, and at least 3 years’ experience in a Generalist capacity or higher (or a combination of education and experience).
High proficiency with Microsoft applications and 10-key.
