Summary:
Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Spokane, WA branch has an opening for a Maintenance & Facilities Technician.
The primary focus of this position is to keep our equipment operational by executing the branch preventative maintenance program. Additionally, this position keeps our building and the grounds in good shape which contributes to a safe working environment for our employees.
Let us tell you about the responsibilities and expectations of this role to ensure we are the right fit for each other.
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
Performing preventative and routine service on equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions
Reading equipment manuals to understand how to safely operate and properly maintain them
Troubleshooting equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issue and performing work on equipment to bring it back to full operation
Repairing building structures and other minor construction projects
Keeping the building and grounds in good repair and safe working condition; includes emptying trash, cleaning equipment, and controlling any oily conditions
Communicating with maintenance and branch management on equipment statuses and maintaining records of maintenance activities
Following safety protocol and working with other teams on projects as needed
Job Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have:
At least 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment performing maintenance related work such as equipment repair
Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance process (hydraulics, industrial electrical, PLC’s, pneumatics) and safety precautions
Sound math and problem solving skills
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field a definite plus
Positive can-do attitude with a strong desire to continuously learn
Sense of priority combined with ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work environment could include outdoor/indoor fabrication or shop facilities and indoor office facilities
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance without any restrictions
Position requires frequent standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, and other movements
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (cold, hot, rain, etc.)
Noise level is moderate to loud
