Job Description :
Overview:

Handles all property damage claims, opening to close, process all liability incidents and worker compensation claims, work closely with Insurance Broker & Third Party (claims) Administrators (TPA). Assist Risk Manager in determination of coverage, assessment of reserves and moving claims to closure.
Responsibilities:

1. Claims/Incidents reporting

2. Property Damage Claim Management

Opening file
Setting initial reserve amount
Monitoring repair of damages, updating reserves, documenting status
Maintaining & updating file at all times for IRM Management access
Obtaining all necessary documentation and assembly of claim: working with Property Managers, Accountants & Occupancy Specialist
Always working file to expedient closure

3. Worker Compensation Claim Management

Set up and process all worker compensation claims
Respond to email communication from adjusters and nurse case managers
Liaison between insurance carrier and the employer for claims
Update the workers compensation portal with new site locations
4. Captive Administration

5. Fee Managed Properties – insurance certs maintenance

6. Mastering of the above functions, may lead to more in-depth duties associated with The Michaels Organization Risk program
Qualifications:

Required Experience:

1. Prior claims experience preferred, but not required
2. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
3. Proficient use & knowledge of Excel & Word software
4. Strong organizational skills: setting up & design of schedules & procedures for this newly created position

Required Education/Training:

High School Diploma Required,
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience preferred.

Working Conditions:
Primarily an office environment.
