Under general supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Director of Finance and SOX Compliance directs the organization’s financial policies, planning, reporting and controls, and is responsible for developing and implementing SOX compliance policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Acts as the key point of contact to the company’s public accountants on matters related to the SOX compliance program.
Establishes and maintains processes for updating process narratives and controls.
Establishes partnership with Internal Audit to insure proper governance forums.
Reviews test findings with the Internal/External Audit Team.
Supervises cash management.
Develops and maintains cash flow forecast including capital expenditures and requirements.
Evaluates ROI on potential capital projects (lease vs. buy).
Oversees financial reporting functions and processes for the Insurance Department (BIPD & W/C).
Manages information gathering for annual insurance renewals.
Performs other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA
Prior experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm
5+ years of experience in a transportation organization preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Effective written and oral communication
Strong organizational skills with astute attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
