Working at the Y, you’ll discover more than a job—you’ll enjoy the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around you.The Berkeley Heights YMCA, a branch of the Summit Area YMCA (SAY), is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for our kindergarten wrap program. The Kindergarten Wrap Program (K-Wrap) is designed for New Providence students enrolled in half-day Kindergarten at Allen W. Roberts School and Salt Brook School. Our K-Wrap program provides an extension of the public school day by focusing on the NJ Dept. of Education’s Student Learning Standards.The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for ensuring our children’s daily physical, social, mental development and well-being while in our care. Teachers supervise children as they learn and play, provide comfort and reassurance, plan stimulating activities, and keep children clean and safe. Qualifications:
Minimum of a CDA
A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in an early childhood center, private or public school.
Have strong leadership, communication, planning, organization and computer skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
