Title: Lab Technician
Location: Madison Heights, MI
Start date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence
Conduct sample testing of coatings characteristics on coated substrates using established procedures.
Evaluate, collect and record data into software applications
Operate physical and analytical testing equipment
Document all necessary entries for quality (Standard Checks/Verifications)
Be responsible for general laboratory cleanup and other general lab duties as assigned
Be able to stand while performing testing for extended durations.
Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or in a technical field.
1 year of demonstrated laboratory experience
Computer literate in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to understand and follow direction with method testing and equipment usage/support.
Comfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols.
The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day
Work in a fast-paced environment and perform assignments with limited supervision
