POSITION SUMMARY
The Legal Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Law and Corporate Affairs (LCA) department which services ministries and resource groups within the organization and directly assisting the General Counsel. Work with clients across all departments and at all levels within the organization. Support legal work performed within the department as well as in supporting processes and practices to enable the organization to meet its legal and compliance priorities. Adapt to changing priorities and be proactive in identifying areas of needs and generating action plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
Project Management
Manage and support projects organization wide.
Identify solutions to increase overall efficiency.
Assist with and oversee transactions as needed
Paralegal and Risk Management
Work with the General Counsel to facilitate legal assistance throughout the organization on a broad range of areas of law including contracts, corporate law, intellectual property, privacy, and education.
Assist the General Counsel in overseeing an effective contract process, which includes drafting and review.
Engage in reviewing and drafting a wide range of standard agreements including vendor and service agreements and other agreements customary to a large non-profit organization.
Assist the General Counsel in compliance efforts which includes risk management as well as writing and facilitating the implementation of processes, policies, and procedures.
Administrative Support
Assist General Counsel with required state and federal filings, board of trustees meetings and related records.
Provide education and training throughout the organization when assigned.
Effectively interface with many internal groups (e.g., finance, fundraising, HR) and outside counsel.
Provide administrative support for the operational and daily needs of the general counsel including calendaring, presentation prep, etc.
Collaborate with internal ministries and resource groups on matters that may create potential risks to the organization and its people, and/or issues that are related to Legal and compliance concerns.
Other
Work collaboratively with supervisor and coworkers, including engagement in meetings and planning sessions as necessary and/or as assigned by Supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
CHRIST CENTERED
Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
Ongoing affirmation, alignment with and support of CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree on a year for year basis.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience in a fast-paced paralegal/legal support role, including experience with reviewing, writing, drafting and editing contracts or legal documents in the capacity of paralegal/legal support role, contracts manager, legal operations manager or similar experience.
SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Eight years of experience in a legal/legal support role, including experience in writing, drafting and editing legal related documents
