Join a strategic team focused on driving growth for the consulting service line at Baker Tilly! You will be responsible for understanding the market, firm performance, and firm strategy in order to develop strategies with leaders across consulting. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving the execution of those strategies, whether that means building a new service offering or product, executing a marketing plan, acquiring another organization, etc. You will also be responsible for prioritizing, managing, and assisting on special projects that are focused on identifying new market opportunities leveraging internal and external data and research, and developing an executable strategy to unlock growth. This role will lead by influence and collaborate with many teams across the firm and serve as a player coach in the consulting professional practice group. This is a new role and a new team, so an entrepreneurial spirit who is comfortable with ambiguity, change, and ability to build new processes is a must.

Strategy Development

By keeping a finger on the pulse of market and industry trends and collaborating with consulting leaders, lead the strategy development of various teams that delivery advisory services
Draft business plans, strategic plans, investment cases, and other deliverables to articulate the vision
Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure strategic plans reflect organizational strategic priorities
Identify organic and inorganic growth opportunities

Strategy Execution

Identify the investments and capabilities necessary to execute on strategic plans
Collaborate with corporate development, innovation and solutions, growth strategies, recruiting, the consulting practice management teams, and others to ensure relevant resources are mobilized for execution of strategies
Develop project plans for execution and oversee execution from beginning to hand-off to stakeholders
Partner with consulting leaders and other shared service resources to ensure offerings are highly relevant, align with organizational strategic priorities, and deliver value to clients and prospects

Strategy Optimization

Develop, iterate, and monitor KPIs related to performance of strategies, identify risks, develop mitigation actions/strategies to iterate, and prioritize areas for additional investment or divestment
Identify threats and opportunities that may shift or shape our firm’s competitive strategy, leveraging internal and external insights, competitor trends, market trends, etc.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Future Studies, Marketing or related field. MBA or related degree a plus.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, five (5) to eight (8) years preferred, in a professional services or CPA firm a plus
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills required especially PowerPoint and Excel, including more advanced functions like pivot tables. Experience with PowerBI a plus.
Requires professionalism, executive presence, diplomacy, strong project scoping and management skills, organization, creativity, ability to manage multiple project requests simultaneously in a timely manner, and ability to handle details while keeping an eye on the big picture
Must be able to communicate (written and verbal) and present effectively with all levels of staff and work well in a team-focused environment.
Ability to write in an engaging, concise manner, synthesizing complex research and data into meaningful strategies
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high tolerance for change, naturally curious and inquisitive
Strategic thinker and self-starter that can work independently and work cross-functionally while leading by influence
Solutions oriented with an ownership mindset, data driven and goal oriented
