Job Description :
The Manager, Corporate FP&A will prepare cash flow forecasts by region and project cash flows on a short-term and long-term basis supporting operating cash flow and free cash flow guidance. It involves working with tight deadlines, improving forecasting accuracy, and gathering information from different groups within the organization. This role will integrate with senior members of FP&A and provide information that supports our cash flow forecasts, guidance, as well as M&A and capital allocation decisions.
Responsibilities:

Quarterly forecasting. Prepare current quarter cash flow forecast. Triangulate forecast with consolidated P&L forecast to ensure alignment across all forecasted metrics. Develop independent point of view on risks and opportunities to both the current quarter forecast and annual plan.
Annual and long-range cash flow planning. Conceptualize and create annual and 3-year scenarios for operating cash flow, free cash flow and domestic cash flow generation, based on bookings and P&L inputs provided by Corporate FP&A team as well as inputs from other finance and accounting business partners. Develop an independent view on likely outcome, including risks and upsides. Clearly articulate outlook to senior management and be able to calibrate cash flow plan to overall company operating plan.
Cash flow forecast model. Lead the enhancements and accuracy of the cash flow forecasting model for VMware. This requires the reflection of new business models, improvement of existing forecast methodology, updates based on latest financial policies, simplification, and tuning for constantly improving accuracy. It requires a deep understanding of the interplay between the balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow.
Cash flow reporting. Report the quarterly cash flow results using the direct method of presentation. This includes vetting the categorization of cash transactions to ensure accurate reporting of the various operating, investing, and financing cash flow components. Assist with the preparation of quarter-end deliverables.
Domestic cash planning. Report and analyze historical cash flow generation by region in order to support the regional cash forecasting process.
Materials preparation. Support the creation of materials for top management updates, approval meetings, earnings materials and Board of Director meetings as it relates to cash flow.
Process improvement. Drive process improvements associated with the cash flow reporting process.
Deep dive analyses and ad hoc projects. As required, conduct analyses providing insights into the cash flow performance and outlook for the company. Additionally and as required, assist with other projects related to bookings and/or spending.

Skills and knowledge:

Solid knowledge of accounting principles, statement of cash flows and the interrelatedness of financial statements
Knowledge of the MS office package (Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills are necessary
Knowledge of SAP reporting a plus
Strong analytical skills and capability to interpret large data sets and communicate valuable insights
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage information requests across multiple groups
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Initiative to problem-solve
Strong attention to detail and interested in performing deep-dive analyses to extract insights from data.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting
5-7 years’ experience in Financial Planning and Analysis roles at a large multinational corporation
Background in corporate finance preferred
CPA or MBA a plus
Motivated individual with a desire to learn and to grow in a fast-moving environment
Quick learner and interested in developing his or her career in a fast pace and challenging environment
