Job Description Summary
Elementis is looking for a Strong AP/AR Mgr. based out of East Windsor, NJ. This position will be reporting to Regional Financial Controller and will have 6 direct reports.

As a key member of the headquarters finance function, this position requires a self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive minded individual with a solid accounting base, who can identify and complete work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of the shared services group, while always searching for process improvement opportunities. Experience with an integrated ERP system environment, particularly JD Edwards, is preferred.

Job Description

Accounts Payable

Ensure compliance with all accounting and financial policies, practices, procedures, and initiatives
Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis
Oversee all payment transactions such as ACH, wires, and paper checks
Oversee data entry, validation, and processing of various types of invoices like general overhead, subcontractor, and employee travel reimbursements
Manage all 1099 tax relate matters and yearly filing to state and federal agency.
Assist with all internal & external audit activity including planning, preparation, and data gathering
Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house
Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP)
Monthly reconciliation of A/P aging to vendor statements and GL ledger.
Manage GNRI reconciliation and take corrective action to resolve it.
Maintain open communication with vendors
Establish relevant cut-off dates/times for accounts payable processes and manages monthly closing of financial records and posting month end information.

Accounts Receivable

Monthly reconciliation of A/R aging to GL Ledger.
Prepare reports of regular intervals (weekly, monthly, quarterly) making forecasts on payment flow.
In charge of collecting payments from clients & ensure they are done on time.
Direct the AR team to meet or exceed key performance indicators
Identify and implement any needed procedures to help maintain a streamlined, efficient organization
Manage new projects and client practices to ensure success in meeting objectives

Additional Job Description

5+ years of accounting, accounts receivables, accounts payable experience
Minimum bachelor’s in accounting required. Master’s degree or CAPP designation a plus.
Experience in invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable best practices
Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills including root cause analysis
Prior experience in cash management (collections, account reconciliations, payment processing)
Prior experience in collections
Experience with accounting ERP systems, JDE is a plus.
Demonstrate aptitude for effective delegation and coordination skills.
Demonstrate aptitude to effectively handle team and interpersonal situations.
Working knowledge of Excel and Word programs including basic formulas and functions.
Proven ability to motivate and lead others to achieve a task and goal.
Strong communication skills both written & verbal.
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Use of common sense, pragmatic thinking and possesses necessary analytical skills for problem solving
Hands on manager, not just a delegator.
Exceptional supervisory skills especially with regard to communicating, motivating, leading and working with all types of personalities.
Manage team performance (as well as issues that may arise)
