Summary
We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to work for our expanding pediatric urgent care. Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position will aid the clinical staff by performing various administrative duties and clinical tasks.
Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and register patients as they arrive
Monitor patient flow and obtain vital signs and initial information
Prepare patients for X-rays
Perform routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures. (venipuncture experience preferred)
Irrigate and assist with wounds
Perform other duties as needed including apply splints and assisting the nurse and/or medical provider in other medical procedures
Provide exceptional customer services
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children
Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
Strong communication skills
Prior pediatric experience
Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office
Willing to learn medical software
Experience with medical records preferred
Weekend and evening availability required.
