TITLE: DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONAL COACH REPORTS TO: Administration EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, full time FLSA STATUS: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Provide professional development, support services, and coaching to teachers and staff under the guidelines of the District Leadership Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate, in alignment with the district strategic direction, around teaching and learning; collaborate specifically under the guidance of Administration and District Leadership Team
Support implementation and improvement of standards based instruction, mastery learning, and blended tools to enhance personalization and student access to learning among buildings in the district
Support building instructional leadership teams in their implementation of the district strategic direction
Under the guidance and direction of the District Leadership Team, plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development and training in areas of high level need
Assist teachers (building and district) with implementation of an instructional framework; coordinate/develop/facilitate training sessions related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment of learning;
Coordinate model classrooms to build instructional capacity
Collect and analyze trend data at the district level.
Oversee the organization and management of professional and student books, blended tools, and materials; collaborate to determine needs, place orders, and assure accessibility.
Develop systems and coordinate resources for a variety of professional learning opportunities in virtual, blended, and face to face environments.
To remain current with educational research as it applies to curriculum, learning, assessment, instruction and technology.
Develop leadership skills by assisting building leaders when appropriate.
Assist volunteer mentors as needed.
Attend training sessions as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate support for the district strategic direction, mission and beliefs.
Demonstrate an ability to inspire, innovate, and lead change in educational environments.
Serve as a role model in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ohio teaching certificate/license.
Master’s Degree in related teaching area, preferred.
Extensive experience in the classroom.
Recognized as a Teacher Leader or Master Teacher.
Ability to create environments conducive for learning that are effective for all learners
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Desire and ability to work with peers in a supportive, collaborative and instructive manner.
Ability to meet the time requirements of team meetings and training sessions.
Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Possibility of evening or weekend meetings.
Occasional requirement to lift and carry books and supplies.
Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, see, hear.
Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
Occasional operation of a vehicle.

Length of Employment: One Year Limited Contract
Salary and Fringe Benefits: Based on Current Salary and Benefit Schedule
