Description:
As a Pharmacy Logistics Coordinator, you’ll be involved with multiple facets of the pharmacy dispensing process as you interact with internal/external stakeholders and vendors to ensure accurate, quality service. You will use your experience as part of the Pharmacy Team to resolve problems when unforeseen roadblocks arise. You shall report to the Pharmacist in Charge for the Company or their designee. You will oversee the Inventory Management, Sourcing, Ordering, Fulfillment, Packing and Shipping functions related to executing on prescription dispensing for our patients. You will work alongside/guide Pharmacy Technicians and collaborate with other Supervisors/Senior Leadership to ensure the efficient management of inventory, invoicing, production, and delivery to support the Pharmacy workflow from start to finish. This position is multi-faceted and will touch the satisfaction of internal/external stakeholders end to end by directly impacting cost of goods, accurate supply staging/packing, and verification/follow through on fulfillment of physical delivery to the Patient’s home.
Responsibilities:
Mentoring, coaching, and driving success within the pharmacy as it relates to your key functions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations such as USP 797/800 as applicable, plus work towards accreditation such as ACHC and URAC
Participate in the daily functions in the pharmacy
Pick prescriptions and supplies while assuring accuracy and attention to detail
You will support the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with the physicians’ ordered course of therapy.
Interact with patients, caregivers and all other stakeholders as needed regarding their interactions with the pharmacy, confirming compliance, and answering or directing questions. You will be working closely working with key leaders in the Company to effectively utilize data to make key strategic decisions.
Assist with the selection, packing and delivery of specialty infusion products and services on a patient specific basis
Contact patients, caregivers and other stakeholders to determine health, supplies or delivery matters and as needed
Confirm delivery based on company protocols
Assist with recording and maintaining of various pharmacy logs
Ensure that all pharmacy products are sourced in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Adhere to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices. Comply with state and federal laws
Take lead on product purchasing, inventory, and equipment management
Coordinate with suppliers and ensure the correct drug products are received from the wholesale company if requested
Maintain knowledge of various vendors and where to source different supplies, medications and other pharmacy needs based on company policy/protocol
Verify the accuracy of product orders received. Checks prices against contract and in the schedule of charges. Assists with the system of tracking infusion pumps and medical equipment
Educate themselves on the scope of services that are available through company. Understands basic drug terminology and therapies/services provided
Actively support organizational and departmental policies & procedures
Presents a professional appearance & approach with members and other employees; demonstrates honest & ethical behavior. Handles member & employee info with appropriate sensitivity and safeguards to ensure confidentiality and right to privacy, in compliance with HIPAA regulatory
Contributes to the effectiveness of the team by working together by supporting, promoting & applying the best practice standards of conduct including those on attendance, mutual respect & support, honoring diversity, effective communication and improving the work environment
Exhibits flexibility when work assignments need to be adjusted to meet service, delivery and workload needs of team

Confidentiality and Compliance:
Always maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
Observe legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary company information
Understand and comply with HIPPA
Participate in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment error and/or failures. Accurately completes occurrence forms and forwards them to the pharmacist on duty and/or in charge
For all activities, comply with accreditation, legal, regulatory and safety requirements
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of five years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, Coordinator or Purchasing Agent in a compounding pharmacy
Excellent communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Ability to record and maintain pharmacy records
Preferred:
Experience working in an acute or specialty infusion pharmacy
Experience working in a hospital pharmacy
Experience with advanced sterile compounding (Chemo, TPN, Antibiotics plus other complex therapies)
Experience with CPR+ Pharmacy Management System
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT – Pharmacy Tech Certification Board or ICPhT – Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy)
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
