Position Details

Position Description
The University of Washington’s District Leadership Design Lab (DL2) under the direction of Dr. Meredith Honig seeks a post-doctoral scholar to play a leadership role in advancing DL2’s mission: To support school district central office leaders in transforming their central offices into powerful engines of educational equity—relentlessly ensuring high-quality teaching and deeper learning that centers, values, and elevates the success of students identifying as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, students of color, or living in low-income circumstances.
The post-doctoral scholar will work on two main DL2 projects:

The Central Office Transformation Network (“Central Office TEN”) is a group of senior central office leaders from 6 school districts committed to transforming their central offices to advance equitable teaching and learning from an anti-racist leadership stance.
The Central Office Human Resources Transformation (COHRT) Network supports school district directors of Human Resources (HR) across Washington State in transforming their HR departments to dramatically improve teacher quality and diversity.

Depending on experience and interest, the post-doctoral scholar may also have opportunities to contribute to other projects such as the development of a research program that uses design methods derived from Cultural Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) and Critical Race Theory (CRT) to support central office transformation for equity.
Responsibilities include:

Ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis across each network.
Conducting rigorous literature reviews relevant to each project including on central office leadership for equity, teacher quality and diversity, CHAT, and CRT.
Mentoring graduate students.

The successful candidate will demonstrate readiness to collaborate on peer-reviewed journal articles and other publications as well as research grant proposals.
