Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a specialist to help develop and implement a compliance-focused vendor management program. This program will support AWS’s product compliance function covering hundreds of internal use data center and customer-focused hardware products. AWS works closely with a range of OEMs, ODMS, and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet global regulatory requirements (including product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio frequency (RF), energy efficiency, and restricted substances). The Product Compliance Vendor Management Specialist will need to implement scalable processes and tools to engage suppliers, train them on AWS requirements and mechanisms, establish clear expectations, evaluate supplier performance (including through spot checks and audits), manage escalations, and drive continuous performance improvement by our suppliers.

You will be part of the product compliance function within AWS’s Global Trade and Product Compliance team (GTPC) that ensures that all equipment procured for use in AWS data centers, as well as equipment sold or provided to customers, satisfies global regulatory requirements.

This position will be located in Seattle, WA, but can also be located in Portland, OR.

Primary Duties

Drive implementation of a compliance-focused vendor management program.
Provide training and guidance documentation for suppliers, including developing a new supplier onboarding process.
Develop scalable mechanisms to evaluate supplier performance.
Implement a risk-based supplier audit program.
Coordinate with other supply chain-related programs within AWS (e.g., hardware quality, social responsibility, sustainability, security) to promote synergy and identify efficiencies.
Drive continuous performance improvement within a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent compliance with product regulatory requirements around the world.

· Demonstrated knowledge of the IT equipment manufacturing sector · Familiarity product certification processes and global market access requirements · Experience developing processes to meet internal control requirements in a QMS environment · Experience integrating compliance processes into tools for greater efficiency · Experience working with external manufacturers · Experience effectively articulating recommendations/conclusions both verbally and in written form · Strong data-driven analytical skills, with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics · Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload in ambiguous environments · Highly organized and able to build trusting relationships with stakeholders at various levels across the organization · Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role · Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
