RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education, Qualifications, Licensure and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s in Human Services or related field, or High School Diploma/Equivalency with 4 years of job-related experience working with persons experiencing homelessness or behavioral health needs OR High School Diploma/Equivalency and be a Certified Peer Specialist.

Valid Driver License
Ability to drive an organization vehicle

Work Schedule: This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position
Full Time: 37.5 hour work week – Positions available 7a-3p; 3p-11p and 11p-7a.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for promoting a safe, supportive and quality living environment to a population of homeless adults. Will work in partnership with the team by engaging with the shelter guests and drop-in center participants and assisting them in carrying out activities of daily living as well as responsible for providing direct supervision of guests, participants and visitors. Will monitor to ensure that the facility provides a safe, welcoming and clean environment. In order to enhance the shelter guests’ level of independence and socialization, will ensure that shelter rooms and common areas are clean and maintained on a regular basis.

This position will recognize that relationships are central to engagement and understand that street outreach, drop-in centers and low barrier shelters are bridges to stable housing. To be successful in this position, he/she must demonstrate through action best practices related to inclusivity and cultural humility as well of knowledge of social service safety net and housing programs that benefit people experiencing homelessness.
