The
Program/Department Coordinator II assists director with implementing research, scholarship and program development for FHCC oncology team support for inquiry, recognition, mentoring, dissemination of state of the science knowledge, competency and recruitment of oncology care personnel. Provides complex project support for programs within the department provided at FHCC ambulatory clinic and FHCC inpatient clinical sites. Works also to support programs of clinical rotations from Universities within FHCC centers, in accordance with Washington State Department of Health regulations, clinical staff development and academic programs within the community. Supports the development of research and participation in local, state, and national forums for presentations, and publication of current work of staff.

Responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of administrative functions for Research, Scholarship and Program Development department. Keeps director’s calendar, coordinates project deadlines and details. The administrative coordinator interfaces and works collaboratively with leadership and colleagues in FHCC, Administration, UW, and Community sites, in addition to various regulatory agencies, non-profit organizations, and health care institutions
Responsibilities:

The employee works with a large degree of independence and uses judgment and discretion in carrying out duties. This position is expected to make good decisions and recommendations with regard to policy and daily operations within the department. The employee completes specific projects as assigned and demonstrates skillful communication in resolving complex and sensitive issues, exercising initiative and judgment in prioritizing activities and in decision-making within the scope of assigned authority

Participates in and supports quality improvement efforts and projects
Carries out special assignments or projects as needed or as assigned by department director
Tracks budgets for programs within the department
Serves as resource for the department and assists program staff with questions, concerns, etc.
Qualifications:

Required:

High School Degree or equivalent
Six years of progressively complex administrative experience.
Strong computer skills. (REDCap, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, ZOOM, Workday, Kronos, Outlook)
Strong problem solving skills and clear communication skills.
Experience in budget tracking and preparation.
Organizational skills, general office skills, word processing/computer skills and written and oral communication skills.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to maintain a pleasant, calm, and empathic demeanor in difficult or emotional situations.
Able to multi-task, move from one task to another quickly, and be adaptable to changing priorities and circumstances

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.

Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
