Summary Description:
Organize, coordinate and supervise projects by ensuring on time completion, identifying variances and consistently remaining proactive throughout a project. Responsibility of ordering materials and scheduling manpower during each phase of a project. Accountable for ensuring profitability of portfolio of projects is maximized.
The employee may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
The following duties are typical for this classification:
Review all stages of a project and share pertinent information with internal staff during routine meetings.
Measure and enforce the quality of work performed at assigned projects as per the project plans and specifications.
Review subcontractor work ensuring it meets J.E. Johnson standards as well as plan specifications; resolve any issues regarding subcontractor performance.· Order and schedule material and equipment deliveries.
Schedule crews and subcontractors for the job.
Monitor job progress and costs.
Quote changes in work.
Obtain signed change orders for any out of scope work.
Assist in the selection process for subcontractors.
Support the Estimating Department during pursuit of projects.
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of mechanical/commercial HVAC construction business.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in addition to VMS and computerized estimating.
Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to changing business needs·
Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Ability to be part of a high functioning team with an emphasis on treating co workers, supervisors and customers with respect and a spirit of cooperation.
Education and Experience, & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
A minimum of five (5) years experience as a Project Manager.
Insurable driver.
Ability to pass background check.
Can pass drug screen (urine & hair).
A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
