Job Description :
The Quality Material Testing Technician conducts testing of the raw materials and finished goods in accordance with set standards, to analyze physical, mechanical, and chemical properties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Actively audit all processes, procedures, raw materials, and finished goods.
Approve finished products by auditing to ensure adherence to specifications.
Read and interpret specifications.
Review and modify current procedures as needed.
Develop audit sampling plans.
Conduct audits and reports findings and suggest corrective action.
Perform identification and traceability activities. Suggest efficient and cost savings actions based on findings.
Develop product/process audit programs.
Identify root causes to minimize or eliminate scrap.
Support manufacturing with regards to quality issues.
Support and suggest continuous improvement ideas.
Review returned product against product standard; testing properties when needed.
Keep work area neat and in an orderly condition.
Follow prescribed safety regulations.
Any activities required to maintain ISO certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to use measuring and monitoring equipment.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and geometric dimensioning tolerances.
Ability to drive a tow motor.
Must have the ability to work flexible hours.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and have fundamental computer navigation skills.
Understanding of SPC and data analysis.
Understanding of laboratory testing equipment is desired.
Understanding of ISO Standards.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Exposure to fumes, resin, and heat.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds in a safe manner.
Must be able to stand and walk frequently.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance.

Education and Experience:

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Physical Sciences.
0-2 year’s previous testing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Salary info:
$20 – $25 / hr
