We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse-Post Partum to join the Mountainside Team!
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
The Registered Nurse—Post Partum will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Coordinate all nursing care for patients recovering from an invasive procedure or surgery who has received general anesthesia, deep sedation and in some cases local anesthesia
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes while maintaining a family centered experience
Collect patient’s health data
Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems
Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
Implement interventions identified in the plan of care
Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes and preparation for discharge from the PACU to either Phase 2 Recovery or hospital inpatient unit
Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines
Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing
Maintain confidentiality with all information
Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
What You’ll Bring
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum of 1+ years’ experience as an RN in a hospital PACU or Critical Care Unit
Current valid NJ State professional Registered Nurse license
Current BLS certification
ACLS (obtainable within the first three months of employment)
PALS (obtainable within the first three months of employment)
Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Training
Ability to initiate IV therapy, blood specimen collection, point of care testing, perform EKG, phlebotomy (skills obtainable within the first three months of employment)
Ability to manage a patient’s airway including us of mechanical ventilation.
Ability to multi-task, reacting to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions
Demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems, equipment or programs used in the organization, knowledge of Epic a plus
