Job Description :
Looking for a compassionate-minded individual who would like to provide respite care two weekends a month for an able-bodied, young man with autism.
Responsibilities
– Provide companionship to client
– Provide and serve meals and/or snacks
– Support client with any emotional issues
– Assist client with medications
Ideal Candidate
– Someone who enjoys mentoring young adults with developmental disabilities
– Enjoys recreational activities, especially outdoors
– Has their own vehicle
Salary/Requirements
– Must complete background check
– $22 per hour ($11 per hour for any overnight care – 9pm – 7 am)
– Care can be conducted mainly outside of our home – either recreational activities in the day, or spending time at your own home. (We are mainly looking for weekend assistance outside of our own home in order to provide respite for ourselves.) If we are out of town, the respite care could be provided at our home.
– Typical schedule could be 10 am -5 pm both Saturday and Sunday (only two weekends a month), but there is flexibility on times those days. Also, opportunity for occasional overnights (e.g. once a month or once every two months) if we are out of town.
