Description:
The Black River Local School District is hiring a School Psychologist for the 2022-2023 school year. The position is 193-212 days.
Performance Responsibilities:
Completes Intervention Based Assessment Team/Multi-Factored Evaluations and data collection on assigned cases.
Recommends prescriptive-intervention approaches to facilitate remediation of student difficulties.
Assists in the development of special education programs.
Compiles and maintains such records and reports as are required.
Develops and promotes suitable procedures for screening and diagnosis of student problems.
Consults with special education teachers and parents of students enrolled in the special programs.
Recommends policies and programs essential to the needs of exceptional children.
Participates and assists in building level IA T meetings and the development of intervention techniques and supports.
Participates and assists in the development of 504 Plans throughout the district.
Familiarizes himself/herself with all local district policies as well as State and Federal mandates regarding programs and services for handicapped children.
Assists in placement conferences, parent conferences, monitoring of Special Education referrals, development of the Individualized Education Plans for all handicapped children.
Provides in-service, when appropriate, to Special Education teachers, parents, tutors, aides, administrators and general education personnel regarding the education of handicapped children.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
