Job Description :
Black River is seeking a part time elementary school psychologist who holds a valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate. The school psychologist will be an active member of the school community who is able to partner with families, school administrators, teachers, service providers, and staff to create healthy learning environments and positive outcomes for students. Duties will include:

Coordinating student support team meetings and participating in Child Find activities.
Conducting educational evaluations of students who have or are suspected of having a disability
Demonstrating knowledge of all special education disability categories
Understanding and following special education rules and timelines
Reporting evaluation findings at team meetings and contributing to the development of meaningful IEPs.
Helping families understand the special education process, as well as their student’s particular needs
Consulting with teachers to individualize instruction and interventions
Consulting with teachers, service providers, and families to improve student support strategies and outcomes
Providing consultation regarding behavior support
Collaborating with the special education director to coordinate needed services.
