Job Description :
At West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales, we are a locally-owned group of companies devoted to bringing our customers the very best when it comes to a full-service truck dealership. We are based in West Michigan with 5 locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon to support our customers with an extensive service department, 3 complete body shops, parts including delivery, a fleet of mobile service trucks, towing, and a laser focus on customer service. This is all in addition to truck sales, leasing/rental, and financing.
We are looking for a Service Manager that can meet goals and keep our Vision and Mission at the forefront of our business.

1. The ability to communicate equally well with Customers, Technicians’ and Management of Repair Order requirements ensuring customer satisfaction and project profitability.
2. The ability to match repair needs with technician abilities to maximize shop efficiency.
3. Involvement in the interview/hiring process for all departmental employees ensuring necessary skills are present as well as personal characteristics which are consistent with company culture.
4. Work closely with the Warranty Administrator in processing warranty claims to ensure proper and timely payment from the manufacturer.
5. Provides appropriate training/workplace opportunities within the Service Department to grow employee capabilities and develop future leadership in the department.
6. Regularly evaluates Service Department performance against target/budget taking appropriate corrective action when needed.
7. Coordinate with the Service Director to ensure staffing levels are sufficient to achieve operational objectives and emerging opportunities.
8. Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and potential referrals.
9. Works closely with the Service Director to establish pricing guides for work performed and monitoring those guides ensuring profitability and competitiveness.
10. Ensures company policies are clearly understood and consistently applied throughout the department.
11. Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
12. Create repair orders and estimates.
13. Present needed and recommended repairs to customers and obtain repair authorizations.
14. Close / bill repair orders in a timely manner.
15. Verify warranties through OEM and related suppliers.


Hold an Associate’s Degree but not required
Stable work history with experience in the Diesel industry
Self-Starter with management experience
Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team
Problem solver
Familiarity with Financial Statements
Valid Driver’s license
Experience as a Diesel Service Manager preferred
