JOB SUMMARY
Investigate all reported major unusual incidents as defined in Ohio Revised Code 5123.61 and Ohio Administrative Code 5123-17-02.
Travel to appropriate sites, conduct and/or coordinate investigations, collect and review documentation and physical evidence, and interview witnesses.
Manage investigations according to priority; schedule time to assure priority cases are given proper time commitment to ensure the health and safety of the individual is maintained.
Work as a team member to effectively and efficiently communicate with county board(s) the status of the investigation.
Work jointly with law enforcement, County Department of Human Services, County Case Managers, County Prosecutors and Children Services Boards.
Assure compliance with DODD rules, local, state, and federal regulatory policies and procedures.
Prepare cumulative reports for county boards and other involved agencies.
Coordinate and participate in county board annual review and stakeholder meeting.
Provide technical assistance/training to member county staff and local agencies as requested.
EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement, criminology, social work, nursing or a related field, Master’s Degree Preferred.
Associate’s Degree with two years full-time (or part-time equivalent), supervised, paid work experience in conducting administrative, civil, and/or criminal investigations may be accepted.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable certification as required by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
Ability to take initiative, think creatively and determine solutions.
High degree of initiative and ability to work independently without close daily supervision.
Functional knowledge and understanding of computer operations and databases.
Combination of education and related experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to carry-out the duties of the position may be accepted.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
This position serves several County Boards of Developmental Disabilities. Must be willing to travel to various locations to conduct and/or coordinate investigations. Employer reimburses for mileage at the IRS standard mileage rate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
