Tidewater Physicians for Women is a division of Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care with offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. Requirements To Be a Surgery Scheduler at Tidewater Physicians for Women:
1-2 Years of Scheduling experience
Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and fellow co-workers
Demonstrates flexibility as a team member
Organized and able to manage time effectively
Able to multi-task and prioritize assignments

**New employees are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following and/or coinciding with 30 days of full-time employment**
Responsibilities:
Schedule surgeries for physicians to include coordination with hospital and physician schedule
Enter surgeries into EMR
Provide verbal and written instruction to the patient in regard to surgery and additional appointments needed
Prepare surgical packets for the physician to include all pertinent paperwork and discharge instructions for patient
Complete pre-op paperwork and send to hospital
Schedule pre-op appointments and medical clearance appointments for surgery
Obtain all medical clearance documentation prior to surgery
Complete consents and pre-op testing
Send surgery consents, preoperative H&P to pass office prior to surgery
Check insurance cost/ responsibility and notify patient
Check authorization requirements and obtain authorization if needed
Adjust physician schedules as needed for surgery
Schedule post-operative appointments
Enter bloodwork orders into MD office prior to surgery
Generate itemized lists monthly of surgeries scheduled and c-sections scheduled
Follow-through with all referrals to include authorization and billing requirements
Call insurances for benefits of all IUDs, Nexplanon’s, Gardasil, ultrasounds, etc. and notify patient of financial responsibility
Verify with insurance if devices are a buy-and-bill or a pharmacy benefit
