Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) Parish and School located in Plymouth, MI is committed to the New Evangelization. Our vision is “To offer every person in our community a life-changing encounter with Jesus.” We are called to foster holiness and serve as a center of evangelization and discipleship for students, families, and faculty.
God is doing something new at OLGC Parish School in order to accomplish a bold mission: we exist to offer a life-changing encounter with Jesus and equip leaders to transform the culture. We are now joyfully recruiting a new Technology Administrator to join our school family.
The successful candidate will be passionate about OLGC’s vision and thrive in a team environment. They will be enthusiastic leaders, with an expressed joy in the Lord whose servant’s heart is demonstrated as a lived faith in all endeavors within the OLGC school and parish. They will have a strong personal relationship with Jesus and deep love for His Church. Our new Technology Administrator will join our family being willing to do whatever it takes for God to accomplish His mission.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Education, Technology, or a related technology/computer field from an accredited college or university.
Have experience working with students and educational staff in the field of educational.
Ability to articulate and communicate technology concepts effectively in non-technical terms in a compelling manner.
Knowledge of existing network management tools and emerging tools, architectural concepts and principles.
Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
Have the ability to assist teachers and administrators to integrate educational technology into the curriculum and the instructional programs to support student achievement.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of instructional programs, curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning, particularly using technology.
Demonstrate achievement in using advanced technology applications.
Ability to identify current and potential problems, evaluate alternatives, implement positive solutions, and follow-up to ensure system performance.
Thrive in a team environment and actively support the mission of OLGC.
Creative and detail oriented, with well-developed organizational skills.
Willingness to offer and respond positively to feedback.
Demonstrate capacity in being a catalyst for change.
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the parish community.
Must be able to acquire, synthesize and implement new information quickly and confidently.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Completion of Protecting God’s Children within first 30 days of hire.


Update and maintain all technology equipment present on the school and church campuses.
Assists in testing, repair, upgrading, and preventive servicing of computer systems with minimal disruptions of computer services.
Manage computer backup platform and endpoint protection for key devices.
Serve as liaison to outside vendors that provide support for software, technology equipment, and materials.
Work with our eRate consultant to seek federal reimbursement funds for all eligible services.
Disseminate technology-related information via news bulletins, electronic mail, and presentations at staff meetings.
Assess, develop, design, and deliver engaging professional development opportunities for the staff using sound instructional design and learning principles.
Provide support to meet the instructional needs of the school and parish staff members.
Manage and maintain the Ethernet networks on both the school and parish campuses.
Address the network security needs of the parish and school and make recommendations to protect the campuses from outside attacks.
Prepare an annual budget of expected technology expenses for both the parish and school.
Work with the parish Operations & Facilities Manager as needed to maintain the phone system, security cameras, and door access systems.
Provide the school leadership team with direction regarding emerging instructional technologies and research-based teaching practices.
Oversee the school’s distance learning initiatives.
Work to improve the overall quality of education received by students in the school.
Monitor student usage of technology and platforms through filtering software
Opportunity to teach a junior high electives course.
Pursue professional growth.


Participate in faculty, student, and parent offerings of Praise and Worship, morning Mass, prayer, and Adoration.
Strive to advance the Archdiocese of Detroit’s pastoral strategy as articulated in the Archbishop’s pastoral letter, Unleash the Gospel, and recent new vision for Catholic Schools.
Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.


The Technology Administrator is a shared position between OLGC Parish (25%) and School (75%).

Is based in Plymouth, MI;
Reports to the OLGC School Principal (School related tasks); Manager of Facilities and Operations (Parish needs and shared infrastructure)
