Job Description :
The Tool Crib Attendant receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment to other workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually and through use of the computer.
Their role is to support others in the shop through all appropriate measures. The person in this position is to ensure that there is an appropriate level of working equipment in the tool crib at all times. The area is to be kept orderly, organized, well documented. They’re also responsible for all incoming shipments from the unloading process all the way through putting the product in its designated place.
Job Responsibilities:

Physically walking through the tool crib to ensure all equipment is in appropriate location, working properly, and available for use.

Issuing Equipment:

Selecting appropriate tools and equipment to support the shop personnel. Assist others in locating equipment and documenting its usage.

Various Shop Support:

Assist shop employees with various tasks such as basic machining, packing up equipment, loading trucks, and paperwork.

Receiving Product:

Physically unloading goods off of incoming trucks. This can be done manually or through use of a forklift or overhead crane. Equipment also is checked in and put away in its designated location.

Ordering Tools and Equipment:

Select appropriate items and compare pricing. Work closely with shop management and purchasing department to make transactions.

Physical Ability:

This position requires the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Other physical activities may include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Lifting up to 60lbs may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in a related role or 5+ years of experience as a machinist
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid driver’s license is required
Ability to pass a pre-employment and ongoing drug screening is required
