Job Description :
The Island Animal Clinic of Grosse Ile Michigan is accepting applications for a veterinary assistant/receptionist, full or part time. We are a family owned one doctor mixed animal clinic in a higher income community but still have a small town atmosphere. We have been in the community for over 30 years. This community is rated as the safest community in Michigan.
The applicant should feel comfortable around animals and be a team player. Client communication, professionalism and friendliness are key qualities. An upbeat personality is a must.
Responsibilities would include restraining animals, assisting with radiographs and ultrascans, assisting with medical/surgical procedures as well as maintaining the clinic in an organized, stocked and clean manner, preparing surgical packs, cleaning and autoclaving surgical packs. Performing toe nail trims, heartworm tests, running urinalysis, maintaining and using the in house laboratory equipment.

Some reception duties may be included in this position. Reception duties include answering phones and directing them to the appropriate employee. Making appointments, collecting payments, directing phone calls, and insuring that the reception area is presentable. This is a very important role in our facility.
At this point we require masks to be worn by all clients regardless of vaccine status. We will accommodate any client that prefers curbside service.
Pay rate ranges from 13$-20$ per hour.
