How you will spend your day as a Wall Panel Designer:

Reads and comprehends architectural plans, structural plans and specifications for projects such as, homes, retail stores, restaurants, churches, hotels, 1 to 5 story multi family structures and complexes
Interacts with Architects, General Contractors, Framers and Clients to answer their questions and construction solutions.
Prepares estimates, layouts and panel profiles using Mitek or similar design software.
Assists in training and developing Level I and Level II Designers including review their designs for accuracy
Travels to jobsites to communicate with existing customers as assigned by manager
Works to assist the team in the timely expediting projects from designing to estimating to producing and delivering

Wall Panel Designer Requirements:

Onsite or Remote opportunity
Minimum education required— High school or GED, may require an AAS in civil, architectural or design related field, prefer Bachelor’s degree. Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Minimum experience required—2-5 years drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry.
Special skills required—Proficient technical writing skills. Excellent salesmanship and communication skills. Proprietary software, MiTek, computer literate, ability to read technical drawings.
Other—PC Literate with Microsoft Office products, MiTek and other design programs that facilitate learning in-house program with ease.
